WW1 Trench Experience

A unique World War 1 replica trench that brings the war to life

Tudor Grange Academy Kingshurst have developed a unique World War 1 replica trench that brings life in the war to life through the World War 1 Trench Experience.

Developed by historical experts and school staff, the Vickers VC Trench is having a transformational impact on teaching and learning at the academy, local schools and the community. The academy is very keen to maximise the impact of the trench by facilitating usage of the trench and outreach work.

This site provides an overview of what we can offer and we welcome interested parties to contact us and share this unique resource.

School visits – KS2 and KS3

Bring your class to our interactive trench experience and find out what life was like in a trench during the Great War. The activities are planned to create the regular duties and pastimes of the British ‘Tommy’. Students also get a chance to look and handle genuine relics and artefacts from the conflict. This programme can be run for a whole day or as a half day activity.

Educational workshops

We offer a wide range of workshops that can be run in your school or venue from team building activities linked to the theme of trench life to the interactive museum. Workshops can be designed to meet your needs and outcomes.

“I had a really fun day! We’d done some work on World War I at school, but this really brought it to life!”

Sophie, Castle Bromwich Junior School
